We checked 8 ice rinks near Leighton Buzzard, from Planet Ice to Willen On Ice, for dates, prices, skate hire and age rules. Updated November 2026.
There are 8 real ice rinks within reach of Leighton Buzzard in 2026, plus a synthetic rink at Luton Hoo, and this guide puts their dates, prices and age rules in one place. Most people land on Planet Ice Milton Keynes, open all year, Willen On Ice or Chiltern View. Every entry was checked against the rink’s own site or booking system on 5 November 2026.
The quick answer
- Is there a rink in Leighton Buzzard? No. We found none announced for the town or Linslade this winter.
- Nearest all year: Planet Ice Milton Keynes, about nine miles away, and a train ride from the town.
- Nearest at Christmas: Willen On Ice, also about nine miles, from 21 November.
- Lowest start price close by: Chiltern View at Stoke Mandeville, from £10 with skates included.
- Christmas Day: Planet Ice in Milton Keynes or Hemel Hempstead, 10am to 12pm, £10 a skater. No trains run that day.
We have not skated at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Distances are straight-line miles from Leighton Buzzard town centre, so the road will be longer. Prices can change by date and session, so the figure at checkout is the one to trust.
If you are driving, note that the Leighton Buzzard Bypass is shut between Wing Road and Billington Road from 9 to 24 November. Our roadworks and travel page has the diversion.

1. Planet Ice Milton Keynes
A permanent indoor rink at Leisure Plaza, about nine miles away and home to the Milton Keynes Lightning ice hockey team. It is the easiest rink to reach without a car: London Northwestern trains run from Leighton Buzzard to Milton Keynes Central, then it is a walk across the centre.
You can arrive at any point in a session and stay as long as you like. Skate hire is extra, except at Inclusive Skates, and the online booking fee is 4%.
When Planet Ice’s rules were read on 20 October, under-8s needed an adult on the ice and all under-12s had to wear gloves.

What happened to the Woburn Sands rink?
Woburn Sands Emporium, about seven miles north of the town, advertised an annual real-ice rink as recently as October 2024, MK Pulse reported. We could not find a 2026 season. Its old ticket portal no longer loads, so we have left it out. If you know otherwise, please tell us.
How we chose
These are the rinks people around Leighton Buzzard can reasonably reach, chosen on the public record rather than on taste: within a drive or a simple train journey, with a 2026 season or current prices published by the operator. Dates, prices and rules come from each rink’s own website or booking page, read on 5 November 2026, unless another date is given. We left out the London rinks because they are further, though the Christmas trains page covers the line to Euston.
