Bonfire night 2026 is Thursday 5 November and Leighton Buzzard has no display. The only announced fireworks follow the lights switch-on on 27 November.

Bonfire night 2026 falls on Thursday 5 November. There is no bonfire or fireworks display in Leighton Buzzard, and there has not been one since 2019.

That is not a guess. It is what the organisers of the last one say themselves.

The town’s display ended in 2019

The Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade ran Leighton Buzzard’s bonfire night event. When it launched a laser light show on the High Street in 2023, its own announcement described the show as a replacement “of the fireworks last possible in 2019”, and gave the reasons: cost, insurance, the environmental impact and the risk of a weather cancellation. The laser show ran in 2023 and 2024. It was then dropped, with the club citing the escalating cost of putting on a free event.

There is no sign of it returning in 2026. Two checks on the club’s own website, made on 4 September 2026:

  • Its Community Activities page lists what the club currently organises: the May Day Fayre, Carols in the High Street on Christmas Eve, the Santa Float, the Brain of Leighton Buzzard quiz and the President’s tea party. No bonfire, no fireworks, no laser show.
  • Its news page carries nothing about a November event. The most recent item is dated 9 August 2026.

The pub display is not listed either

The Grove Lock at Grove, LU7 0QU, has run a ticketed fireworks night in aid of Linslade Middle and Cedars Upper schools. Its dedicated fireworks page now returns a “page not found”, and the pub’s own events feed returns zero events. Nothing is announced for 2026.

Dunstable’s display has no 2026 date

Dunstable Town Cricket Club at Lancot Park, Totternhoe, LU6 1QP, has held a fireworks night in past years. Its website still contains a page titled “Fireworks Night”, but the page renders as a 2023 cricket fixture, so it carries no date, time or ticket price for this year. (Dunstable Town Cricket Club)

Where the fireworks actually are

The one firework display announced in Leighton Buzzard this season is on Friday 27 November, over the High Street, immediately after the Christmas lights are switched on at 7pm. It is free to watch, and it is confirmed on the town council’s own event page. (Leighton-Linslade Town Council)

If a display is announced

Village and club displays in this area tend to be confirmed in the second half of October, and several sit on the weekend either side of the 5th rather than on the night.
