We checked 17 Leighton Buzzard area shops, from BOOK in High Street Mews to Stratton Food Hall, for opening hours and what they sell. Updated November 2026.
Leighton Buzzard has 17 shops worth a Christmas shopping trip in 2026, 15 in the town centre and two a short drive away, and this guide lists them with opening hours and what each one sells. Among them are Happydashery and Room No.9 on the High Street, BOOK in High Street Mews and Stratton Food Hall on Market Square. We checked every entry against the shop’s own site on 5 November 2026, and say where we could not.
We have not shopped at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry says what the shop says it sells. Most of the town centre shops close on Sundays and several open only Tuesday to Saturday, so check before a special trip.
Dates for the Christmas shopping diary
Saturdays 21 November and 5 December: wreath workshops at Wilde Flower Boutique. The Market Square florist lists Christmas wreath workshops on 21 November and 5 December, and a weekday one on Wednesday 25 November, on its website.
Friday 27 November: the lights switch-on, 4pm to 8pm. Leighton-Linslade Town Council says the High Street will have a festive market “for seasonal gifts and treats”, a funfair and a food court, with the lights going on at 7pm and fireworks after. Our switch-on page has the programme.
Saturdays 28 November and 5, 12 and 19 December: the Christmas Festival, 10am to 3pm. Live music, street theatre and free craft activities on the High Street alongside the Saturday market. The council describes it as a chance to enjoy the festival “while shopping locally”. The bands for each Saturday are on our Christmas market page.
We found no late night shopping evening for 2026 when we checked. If the town’s traders announce one, we will add it here.

Parking and getting there
Parking in the town’s council car parks is free on Sundays, but the West Street multi-storey charges. Our parking page has the charges and free times for each car park. The Leighton Buzzard Bypass is closed between Wing Road and Billington Road from 9 to 24 November, so allow extra time on those days; the dates and diversion are on our roadworks page.
For more on Christmas in the town, see our pages on the Santa grotto, Christmas dinner, ice rinks nearby, the railway’s Christmas trains, what’s on this month and things to do in Leighton Buzzard. Local firms are in our business directory.
How we chose
We started from the town council’s town centre shopping directory, which marks independent shops, and kept the ones that sell things people buy as presents or for the Christmas table. We then checked each one on 5 November 2026 against its own website for what it sells, its address and its hours, and left out any shop whose site we could not confirm was current. We added two places a short drive away that open on Sundays. Chains are left out. We have not visited these shops for this guide, and none of them paid to be included.
Run a shop that should be here, or spot something that has changed? Email newsdesk@leightonbuzzardnews.co.uk. Taken a good photograph of any of these places? Email it to newsdesk@leightonbuzzardnews.co.uk and we will add it with your name as the credit.
